2. Bundesliga

Düsseldorf- Ingolstadt: Düsseldorf -0.5 @ 1.79

Düsseldorf is by far the best home team in this league. last year they had 13 wins and 1 draw in last 14 home games, just to start new season with impressive 2-0 home win over top team Bochum. they also had great result with draw at solid Paderborn, so early on they already show some solid form.
Ingolstadt meanwhile was not particular strong away last season and is off a home draw away loss start to the season. their main struggle is on offense, so i dont see them being able to play with Düsseldorf today.

St.Pauli- Aachen: St.Pauli -0.5 @ 1.78

St.Pauli off to a good start. Home win followed by away point at Frankfurt. Aachen going the opposite way early in the season loosing both league matches and cup first round...should be a nice home win.

Union Berlin- Paderborn: Paderborn pk,+0.5 @ 1.87

Paderborn looks surprisingly solid early on. home draw to good Düsseldorf and away win at Rostock followed by nice cup win. Berlin struggling early on, especially on defensive end. away draaw followed by big home loss and cup loss...Paderborn should get at least a draw here.

1. Bundesliga

Dortmund- Hamburg: Dortmund -1 @ 1.90

opening game in Bundesliga. Dortmund is mainly missing Barrios up front with injury , but should not miss much compared to last season. At home they are always powerful and should show today why they are the Champions.
Hamburg meanwhile is trying a re-start this season..they sold all the experienced players who formed the core of the team over last years. Matthysen, van Nistelroy, Trochowski, Rost, ZeRoberto amoungst them...there arer no big signings at all..they got 4 youngsters from chelsea and trying to play this re-building season with all the youngsters.
I have seen them live in tuesday s final freindly match vs. Valencia (1-2 home loss), in which they played one half with the first teams vs. Valencia s first teams and then brought on the substitutes as well as Valencia. in both halfs Hamburg was totally outmatched even in a friendly with Valencia being 3 weeks behind in preparation. Hamburg looked very slow and unorganised on defense (no surprise early in season with new defensive line) and is lacking creativity from midfield. both things are not good if you play a speedy and powerful Dortmund-team in an away game.
i really like Dortmund to win here.

solid day yesterday going 3-1...now saturday

2. Bundesliga

Cottbus- München: over 2.5,3 @ 1.98

Cottbus won both games so far 2-1, but today they have a few injury problems especially on defense. if coach Wollitz sticks to his plan he will try to overcome that by offense. Cottbus is a strong home team and there will be definetly some scoring, but there defense is vulnurable as it was already in first two games.
München shows basically the same tendencies..losing 1-3 away and winning 2-1 at home...more of the same expected today. both teams will get on the board in a pretty open games. there should be at least 3 goals.

Fürth- Dresden: Fürth -1 @2.05 and over 2.5,3 @ 1.91

Fürth will be one of the top teams in league and as always play for promotion. they had a great opening game vs. Frankfurt, but gave up a solid 2-0 lead to lose 2-3...i think that actually worked as a positive wake up call for them. they rebounded with a dominant 4-0 away win at Berlin (which showed yesterday they are not as bad).
Today at home there should be no stopping by a freshly promoted team of Dresden.
Dresden coming from 3.Liga had two "east-germany"-derbies so far loosing 1-2 at Cottbus and drawing 1-1 with Rostock...you can count on the fact that they were extra hyped for these matches still only getting one point..as it it like last years they are especially strong at home but not particular in away games. they are coming off a highly emotional big cup win over Leverkusen...after being 0-3 down they beat Leverkusen 4-3 in OT, but that should work onlyagainst them today....it was done by the big support of the home fans and was so emotional that today will definetly a let down situatuin for them, without special motivation as they had for all their games so far this season.
The over looks also good to me as 3 of 4 games of both teams so far reached at least 3 goals, but the side is the stronger play.

Cottbus over already cashed by HT, hope Fürth gets the job done

1. Bundesliga

Stuttgart- Schalke: Schalke pk,+0.5 @ 1.98

Schalke is on a neutral field the better team and at Stuttgart i see at least a draw for them very likely...they made some changes in off-season, but mainly got rid of expensive and not too important players for the team. the core is still in. main loss was Keeper Neuer, but substitute Fährmann showed already in liga-cup and super-cup there is nothing to worry. overall Schalke showed some promise in these more serious friendlies by even holding champion Dortmund to a 0-0 to win the super-cup in penalties..Stuttgart lost a few key players and with DelPierre still out on defense has alot of questionmarks on defense...over the last years they always struggled to start of season i expect the same here. Schalke with slight advantage in an open game.

Hannover- Hoffenheim: Hannover pk,-0.5 @ 1.90

Hannover was surprise of league last year in 4th place and although i dont expect them to do the same again they should end up in top half. for today s match only ya konan is missing on offense, but they had already a good pre-season without them.
Lot s of changes at Hoffenheim. A new coach is in place and lots of players a changed, but main problem right now is big time injuries...just this week key players Ibisevic and Weis got seriously injured. Ibertsberger and Sigurdson (starters last year) are out as well. Hoffenheim was very luck to win at 4th division team in OT last week which also should not boost their confidence. Ibisevic and Weis injuries will be a shock to the team and will be hard to overcome at a home strong Hannover.

Bremen- Kaiserslautern: over 2.5 @ 1.80

tough to predict this game as i dont rate both teams very high at all. Bremen with no big signings at all due to loss of financial strength lost experience Frings, has Pizzaro and Naldo out with injury and a few key players maybe just coming back from injury. there are no big expectation at all in the team, which might be a problem over the mid-term run as the fans are used to play on top of the league and in ECL, but last year was the first miserable season (barely escaping relegation) and same is expected again.
Kaiserslautern is now in second season in league which is historically always the most difficult. last year they went off to a very good start and feeded off that thru the season. now they lost their only real good striker Lakic to Wolfsburg which leaves a big,big gap up front.
Still they will be trying to play offensive football, which might even allow a struggling Bremen to score today, but still i think everything can happen here and it could very well end up in an 2-1 victory for either side.

Köln- Wolfsburg: Köln pk,+0.5 @ 1.83 and under 2.5,3 @ 1.95

Köln with newcoach Solbakken from Kopenhagen got he team together with big signing riether in miedfield coming from today s opponent Wolfsburg. last year they had a fantistic home stand winning last 9 games in a row and after playing a solid pre-season and first round cup match i expect a solid game from them today.
Wolfsburg is a surprise package..lot s of changes in team, just coming from keeping the league on last day after being champion the year before. They have champion coach Magath again in charge which gives the team lots of confidence and hope, but early season cup loss to 4th division team showed the "new-built" team is not working to well thsi early in the season and work to do. Magath stated after cup loss that he will change tactics and go back to a more safety first approach with two "6s" taking care of defensive struggles. actually i think he will be looking for a draw in this first away game to calm thing down in the club..therefore 3 total goals might be hard to come by here today. For Köln Wolfsburg is also a tough start and in the end for them it might be also more important not to lose than actually to win.

Maybe back with a play for the evening game, but so far that s it.

too bad furth couldn't get that 2nd goal despite being up 2 men ... dresden played like a bunch of goons and it would have been nice for the bets if furth could have exploited it. But good day in 2nd bundesliga...i looked at german I but it is just very hard for me to pull the trigger for week one games. Probably because i am always behind on reading up on teams news/transfers etc...

but good luck - i do remember from the past we both seem to like the same stats when it comes to german football. Hopefully a great year in the bundesligas...

2. Bundesliga

Braunschweig- Frankfurt: over 2.5 @ 1.89

Braunschweig freshly promoted from 3.Liga showed already that they belong winning both opening games (3-1 vs. München and 2-0 at Aachen)..they were dominant in 3.Liga last year and especially strong at home.
Frankfurt is coming the other direction getting relegated from 1.Liga and are picked as top favs for promotion. They were lucky to win opening match at Fürth after being 0-2 down with 3-2 and followed that by a 1-1 home draw to St.Pauli.
I see this as a pretty open match as Frankfurt s better team will be overcome by home advantage and confidence from good start of Braunschweig, but i see goals here. Braunschweig will definetely go for the win at home. they have shown good offense so far this season as Frankfurt has shown to be vulnurable on defense...but Frankfurt will also look for the win here. they know that to play for promotion in this league you need your share of away wins and cannot just sit back. they have shown they will go forward as well in their first awa game of season and they should also get on the board...that should be at least a 2-1,1-2 game here.

Aue- Karlsruhe: Aue pk,-0.5 @ 1.90

Aue was solid last year and they are showing same tendencies again early this season. they based their success on strong defense and home strength...new season so far: 1-0 home win, 0-0 away draw...so you no what to expect from them.
Karlsruhe struggle against relegation last year and i dont expect any difference for this season. they are coming off a 3-2 home win and a 1-2 away loss..both high scoring.that s why i am shying away from the "Aue"-under here, but again like last season they dont look good at all in away games.they were 1-5-11 last year away and that doesnt seem to change (Aue was 10-4-3 home). i like the hoem team to grind it out again here.

Frankfurt- Duisburg: Duisburg -0.5,pk @ 2.01

tough match...Frankfurt a lower half team plays usually low scoring..lost 0-1 away and 1-1 home. they have not won a match for ages if you count also end of last season. Duisburg is one of the better teams but off a rough start.losing 2-3 at Karlsruhe (after playing well and leading) followed by a disappointing home loss. but last week s cup win should have straightend them out. i would like them more as a pk , buti see good chances they getting first points and are coming away with first win.

1. Bundesliga

Mainz-Leverkusen: Leverkusen pk,-0.5 @ 2.03

Mainz was surprise of last season finishing 5th, but much has changed since then. In Shhürle,Fuchs and Holtby they lost their best players and their "young" spirit carried them thru the season. they have no real substitutes for this players which were already displayed in a euro-league qualifying out during the week. they lost against a very medicre team from romania drawing twice 1-1..first time ever a german team lost that early in this competition. simply said..they will be struggling this year and early games showing exactly that.
On the other hand you have a Leverkusen team finishing last season in 2nd place being the best away team and getting only stronger by adding Mainz s best player Schürlle.
They had actually a promising off-season and then had the big shocker last weekend in cup, loosing 3-4 after a 3-0 lead to 2.division Dresden...but this should more likely work as a wake up for them as they actually played great for 60 min and had the match totally under control till some strange things happened.
What also helped that they have a great history playing at Mainz winning 4 of last 6 matches there.

Back later with the München match
